Queensland Supercharged Solar for Renters program to require NETCC Approved Seller status

Published on - 12 Dec 2025

The Queensland Government has launched its Supercharged Solar for Renters program, offering eligible landlords rebates of up to $3,500 to install solar on their rental properties.

As part of the program requirements, retailers must be New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC) Approved Sellers. The NETCC program will help ensure retailers participating in the program are committed to consumer protection standards, processes and documentation and offers Queenslanders an additional channel to address consumer complaints.

Welcoming the launch of the program, Wendy McAndrew, General Manager at the NETCC Administrator, said “The Queensland Government’s Supercharged Solar for Renters program will be a terrific boon for renters in the Sunshine State, helping thousands of households access rooftop solar.

“The requirement to be a NETCC Approved Seller means that landlords can not only have confidence in the quality of their solar system but will know their installer will deliver in line with the best practise consumer protection standards set by the NETCC.”
